- Workmanship. Do laps, fixings, flashings and falls follow the manufacturer’s method?
- Progress. Does the work on site match the programme and the payment milestones?

Developers use supervision to hold contractors to the specification across many units. Architects use it as an independent check between owner and contractor. Owners managing their own build use it to gain an experienced eye they do not have in-house.
